چکیده

The carbon dioxide gasification performance of low-quality lignite-agroindustrial/forest waste blends was investigated in terms reactivity, conversion, cold gas efficiency, product composition and heating value. experiments were conducted a fixed bed unit thermal analysis mass spectrometer system. Raw materials, chars, liquids gases quantitatively analyzed their energy content determined. Synergetic effects the role minerals examined, latter through chemical fusibility analyses ashes. Ahlada lignite (AL) low quality, with calorific value 8.9 MJ/kg. biomass ginning cotton (GCW) pine needles (PN) had values 16.6 MJ/kg 20.1 MJ/kg, respectively. slagging/fouling propensity AL ash low, whereas that wastes medium to high. Thermal treatment samples prior produced upgraded fuels. A Boudourd reaction occurred above 750 °C. Gasification reactivity followed order: GCW > PN AL. AL/PN mixtures presented additivity effects; however, AL/GCW synergy effects. When blended biochars studied, its conversion increased from 90% 94.5% efficiency 31.8% 35%. Generated attained about 12 MJ/m3.

High-sodium Lignite Gasification with the Psdf Transport Gasifier

High-sodium lignite from the Freedom mine in North Dakota was tested in a Transport Gasifier at the Power Systems Development Facility (PSDF). The tests occurred in October 2003 and August 2004 for a total of 445 hours of operation. Due to its high sodium content, the Freedom mine lignite presented unusual challenges to gasifier operations. This paper discusses high-sodium lignite gasification ...

Biomass Gasification-Based Biorefineries in Pulp and Paper Mills – Greenhouse Gas Emission Implications and Economic Performance

The pulp and paper industry has a great opportunity to take advantage of the experience about forestry and wood handling for production of renewable fuels, chemicals and materials. Residues from forestry, i.e., tops, branches and stubs, have great potential to become a raw material that can replace crude oil or natural gas in many applications. By constructing a gasification-based production fa...

Pilot-scale gasification of woody biomass

The gasification of pine and mixed-hardwood chips has been carried out in a pilot-scale system at a range of gas flow rates. Consuming w17e30 kgh 1 of feedstock, the producer gas was composed of w200 dm m 3 carbon monoxide, 12 dm m 3 carbon dioxide, 30 dm m 3 methane and 190 dm m 3 hydrogen, with an energy content of w6 MJ m 3 for both feedstocks. It was found that the efficiency of the system ...
